The Egg Hunt is organized around four different age groups and special needs categories.
The 2009 Spring Egg Hunt will allow every child in attendance a chance to look for eggs
in a much larger area than ever used before. Kids will have acres of park-like woods to
roam in search of plastic eggs filled with treats. Small children will have an area where
parents may closely observe their fun. Hunt times will be scheduled for different aged
groups. A wheel-chair accessible area will be designated for children with special needs.
There will also be a drawing for prizes following each hunt .
Other events slated for the afternoon will include a special
story time by Jo Walter, a display on the farm's history, a walk-about to see farm
animals, a large tractor display, coloring table activities, and a take-home seed
project children will plant while at the farm.
At the same time, Pheasant Fields Farm will host the kick-off of the annual canned
food drive sponsored by the Kitsap Community and Agricultural Alliance to benefit
Kitsap families. Food donations will be taken to local food banks. Assistance will
be provided by Explorer Search & Rescue, Kitsap Unit, who will be the recipient of
all cash donations received.
